This full graphic Smart Controller contains a SD-Card reader, an rotary encoder and a 128 x 64 dot matrix LCD display. You can easy connect it to your Ramps board using the “smart adapter” included.
After connecting this panel to your Ramps you don’t need your pc any more, the Smart Controller supplies power for your SD card. Further more all actions like calibration, axes movements can be done by just using the rotary encoder on the Smart Controller. Print your 3D designs without PC, just with a g-code design stored on the SD card.

  1. Check your cables! Works great after some modification Check your cables! I had a difficult time getting my screen to work after making several changes to the Marlin firmware. At first, the board would only beep and briefly flash on if I pressed the encoder button. As it turned out, both ribbon cable connections were on backwards. I fixed the problem by removing the connectors at one end of the cable, flipping them, then re-crimping them. You could also just remove the small tab on the connector so that you can plug it in the other way. The screen…

  2. At first the screen did NOT work and after I contacted Reprap, they were very helpful with getting my LCD screen working. They gave me a modified firmware to upload to the Arduino board with detailed instructions and with a few tweaks with the code, I got the screen up and working! This LCD screen is a very nice upgrade to my printer but may require some troubleshooting to get it to work.Make sure that the headers on the back of the LCD screen and the adapter are facing the correct…
